Auburn Coastal Farm and Ranch organizes Taylor Bridge Fire relief drive

Coastal Farm and Ranch is collecting donated supplies that will be delivered Friday to help livestock affected by the ongoing Taylor Bridge Fire.

Donations will accompany tons of animal feed and scores of buckets and water troughs already donated by Coastal Farm and Ranch.The public is encouraged to assist in the relief efforts.

"Neighbors Helping Neighbors" from the South Sound Area will be taking donations for people and animals affected by the fire from from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Auburn Coastal Farm and Ranch, 1425 Supermall Way, in the former Walmart facility, south of the SuperMall. The store closes at 8 tonight.

The public is encouraged to donate new or used horse halters, lead ropes, buckets, livestock feed and hay. Pet items such as water dishes and dog and cat food are also needed. Items received today will be distributed Friday to livestock in distress.

"We're thankful we can lend a hand in helping out the livestock and people affected by the Taylor Bridge Fire," said Coastal's owner Buzz Wheeler. "This is a scary event for a lot of folks so we're doing all we can to make sure people and their animals are safe and healthy."

Today only, Coastal Farm & Ranch is offering a 10-percent discount on all items purchased and then donated to the Taylor Bridge Fire relief efforts.
