Menchie's opens in Auburn on Friday

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt has found its way to Auburn.

The frozen yogurt franchise officially opens Friday at 1186 Outlet Collection Road, Suite 101.

Menchie's seven-day grand opening celebration begins Saturday when it will offer free yogurt from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt – chain company founded by Danna and Adam Caldwell based in California's San Fernando Valley – offers self-serve frozen yogurt with a large selection of yogurt flavors and toppings.

Menchie's has become a fast growing food chain with more than 235 locations open in the U.S., Canada, Japan and Australia.

Grand opening week includes:

• Saturday, Aug. 9: Free frozen yogurt from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (up to 8 ounces)

• Sunday: Free plushie dolls to first 25 guests, free T-shirt, free face painting

• Monday: $1 yogurt hour from 5-6 p.m.

• Tuesday: Kids under 10 years old eat free from 2-4 p.m. (up to 10 ounces)

• Wednesday: 50 percent off from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

• Thursday: Free dodge balls starting at 3 p.m. to the first 25 guests

• Friday: Buy one, get one free yogurt from 8 p.m. to closing
