Meet Dr. Daniel Moore, a medical oncologist.
Dr. Moore will be on hand Saturday when the MultiCare Health System opens a comprehensive medical oncology clinic in Auburn, offering residents vital services close to home. The new services will be an extension of the MultiCare Regional Cancer Center at Tacoma General Hospital.
Dr. Moore, for one, welcomes the new clinic.
"We're excited. It has beautiful space with room to grow," he said. "(The need) is projected to grow. And we need the capacity in the future.
"It's nice to know that we can provide oncology care close to home. We will be able to do that now and in the future with our new office."
The clinic grand opening will be held at the new facility, located at 923 Auburn Way N., and will include a variety of free services.
The new Auburn location joins MultiCare's other oncology locations in Covington, Tacoma and Gig Harbor and is the only South Sound oncology service to be a network affiliate of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
The grand opening celebrations will include free private, professional cancer screenings, an ask-the-expert booth, self-guided tours and look good, feel good consultations, light refreshments and free parking.
