The Auburn Mountainview Booster Club, in partnership with Scarff Ford of Auburn, will present “Drive One 4UR School” – a test-driving opportunity for those who want to check out the various models and aid student programs at the high school.

Test drives will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2 at Auburn Mountainview High School, 28900 124th Ave. SE.

The booster club will receive $20 from Scarff Ford and the Ford Motor Co. for each test drive taken.

Proceeds will be help the school's many clubs and organizations – from cheerleading, baseball, lacrosse, band, orchestra, multi-cultural club and others. The goal is to reach $6,000.

Drivers, 18 years and older and one driver per family, are welcome to test-drive any one of eight Ford models and help raise much-needed funding for the school. Upon test-drive completion, participants will need to fill out a short opinion survey on the Ford product in order for the school to receive the $20 per test drive.

The day will include a raffle drawing among participants for the opportunity to win AMHS spirit wear and Ford memorabilia. A community BBQ with free-will donations to support the Lions lacrosse team will be held from noon to 2 p.m., or while supplies last.

Auburn Mayor Pete Lewis and Janice Nelson, Auburn School Board president, will conduct a brief “meet and greet” during the barbecue. A Ford Motor Co. executive from Dearborn, Mich., as well as the Ford Northwest Regional manager, are scheduled to attend.

ALSO

Auburn Mountainview High School will play host to a number of other activities on May 2, including the Spring Craft Fair (held in the Commons) as well as a Parking Lot (rummage) Sale conducted by the baseball team. An AMHS club/organization will be holding a car wash, too.

These events will operate between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Ford Mustang is celebrating its 45th anniversary, and a request has been made to a local Mustang club requesting some of its vehicles to display.
