A number of citizens have recently contacted the Auburn Police Department inquiring as to the validity of solicitation calls they received for monetary contributions to benefit the Auburn Police Department. The Auburn Police Department has not authorized any organization to telephonically solicit funds on its behalf.

However, the Washington State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has contracted with Corporations for Character, a Price Utah company, to conduct telephone solicitations in the state to support the FOP’s Memorial Fund. While the FOP is a legitimate organization, it is not affiliated with the Auburn Police Department.

Corporations for Character and the Washington State FOP have been cautioned not utilize the Auburn Police Department’s name in their solicitations for support.
