Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro presents Heart to Heritage on Saturday, a benefit and collection drive for the fire victims displaced by the Dec. 26 downtown building fire.

The event is from 5 to 9 p.m. at the restaurant, 18 Auburn Way S.

Donations and proceeds raised throughout the event will go to the Auburn Food Bank and directly to help the displaced Heritage Building residents.

Live music is 7 to 10 p.m., with singer-songwriter Kristen Marlo performing.

“We have been so devastated since the fire at the Heritage Building. We witnessed it right from our front windows and all we could do was sit there and hope all of the tenants, business owners, employees, customers and guests were OK,” restaurant management said in an email. “We were frozen watching all of these people lose everything.

“We know there is a lot more that needs to be done, but for now, we want to help raise some funding for those who lost their homes. The residents of the Heritage Building deserve the best chance to move forward after this horrible incident.”

All proceeds from select wine bottles and cases and 50 percent of glass-poured bottle sales will be donated to the victims. In addition, 15 percent of all food sales will be donated, as will $1 of each pint of beer served.

Monetary donations (cash, check or credit card) will be accepted.
