Cowboy up: Top bull rider visits Auburn
May 5, 2011 · Updated 3:13 PM
Valdiron de Oliveira, a top rider on the Professional Bull Riders circuit, appeared at Auburn’s Country Square Western Wear last Saturday.
De Oliveira was in the area to compete with the PBR at KeyArena in Seattle over the weekend.
The Brazilian riding sensation grew up on a ranch and rode steers and horses. At the encouragement of his brother, Paulo, he began to ride bulls at the age of 18..
De Oliveira burst onto the PBR scene in 2007. He was part of the Brazil team that took home the Inaugural World Cup in June 2007 in Australia. He followed that up by riding in the Built Ford Tough Series and placing in the Top 5 at three events.
