The Auburn High School DECA Chapter, a student leadership organization for marketing and business students, is hosting a 9-hole golf tournament at Riverbend Golf Complex in Kent.

Proceeds will benefit the Tucker Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., play follows at 9.

The weekend before school started this year, Auburn lost a great friend, Tucker Johnson. Auburn DECA established a fund to provide scholarship funds to honor Tucker's outstanding character. Tucker's favorite sport was golf.

The scholarships will benefit students in his graduating class of 2012, who demonstrate outstanding character, and half of the proceeds will benefit Tucker's sister, McKinley, to assist with college expenses.

Preregistration is available at www.auburn.wednet.edu/ahs. Access the online registration by clicking on the Oct. 29 calendar listing for the "Tucker Memorial Golf Tourney."

The cost for an adult is $100, and the student price is $50 with ASB. T-shirts are included for those who pre-register online. Golf equipment will be provided for those who want to participate but don't have clubs.

Auburn DECA is still seeking hole sponsors for the event. To be a sponsor or for more information, contact Lori Jacobs, AHS DECA advisor, at 253-931-4880 or ljacobs@auburn.wednet.edu.
