The Seattle Veterans Museum will be open Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11-12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Veterans Day weekend.

The public is invited to stop by and visit the museum to honor service members and celebrate America's freedom.

The museum is regularly open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. It is also open on military holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day) and by appointment for groups.

The museum is looking for more dedicated volunteers to expand its regular weekly hours of operation. SVM is an all-volunteer, nonprofit corporation established to honor military veterans.

SVM is located on 2nd Avenue between Union and University streets (west side of Benaroya Hall) in downtown Seattle. It is behind the Remembrance Garden, a wall memorial completed in 1998 that lists Washington State service members killed during wartime since 1940.
