The Ilalko Elementary School's Green Team came up big with its annual Holiday Lights Recycling Event.

The team recycled an estimated 2,550 pounds of holiday light strands and earned $1,400 for the school's library and special needs programs.

The drive had 21 external collection box sites throughout Auburn and received terrific support from the community, according to Lynne Stephens of the Green Team.
