Ilalko Elementary celebrates record-setting fundraiser

Ilalko Elementary School recently celebrated its successful PTA fundraiser.

Students set records with participation in this year's walk-a-thon, bringing in nearly $18,000 in donations to support the school and its ambitious goals for students and families.

Among the leaders in the Ilalko PTA fundraiser were Hannah Deeter, Josh Abbott, Ariana Stephens and Chloe Vinson. They were recognized at an Oct. 26 assembly, where they each received a gift card, giant teddy bear, and joined top contributors in throwing a pie in principal Tim Carstens' face, below.

In addition, each child will get to have a special dinner and a movie with Carstens and his family.
