Auburn officially welcomed the holiday season on Saturday with a festive and fun children's parade, followed by community caroling and the lighting of the City Hall Christmas Tree.

Washington Elementary hosted a Snack and Craft event prior to the downtown parade. It was an opportunity for families to create fun holiday gingerbread houses and ornaments.

Meanwhile, the Auburn Optimist Club's Santa House opened at the B Street Plaza. Hours will be noon-6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 23. It also will be open on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Please call the club for additional information at 253-315-3025.
