Macaroni Kid kicks off South Puget Sound Teacher of the Month program
Local teachers will be getting a little more recognition for all their hard work.
Macaroni Kid is teaming up with local restaurant, spa and gift sponsors to bring the community its first Macaroni Kid South Puget Sound Teacher of the Month program.
"We want to honor, recognize and reward all the hard-working teachers/educators out there for the amazing jobs they do," said Auburn's Sarah Beyersdorf, publisher and Editor of Macaroni Kid South Puget Sound.
Macaroni Kid has joined The Tin Room Bar & Theater, Al Lago Ristorante, Pink Peony Spa, Serenza Salon & Spa, Staples, Around My Wrist Handmade Bracelets & Jewelry, Winedazzle Magnetic Wine & Cocktails Charms and other sponsors to spotlight teachers from the South Puget Sound school districts, as well as private schools, local preschools and daycare centers. The program rewards them with recognition and some gift items as a thank you.
"If your child has a teacher that they look up to, we hope you will nominate them," said Mary Englin, co-publisher of Macaroni Kid South Puget Sound.
Parents can help their kids nominate their teachers by going to this link.
The September Teacher of the Month will be announced Oct. 3 in the Macaroni Kid weekly newsletter, and will continue throughout the school year, with a different teacher being recognized each month. The winning teachers will receive a $50 gift certificate to a restaurant, as well as a spa gift certificate, a Staples gift card and several other gifts from our sponsors.
Beyersdorf, an Auburn mother of two, launched Macaroni Kid South Puget Sound in July 2009 and Englin, a Burien mother of two, joined in April 2012.
In addition to being one of the largest kid and family-friendly local newsletters and events calendars in the area, Macaroni Kid offers informative articles on parenting, education, product reviews, crafts and recipes.
