Royal Ranger earns top honor

Elijah Olson, a junior at Rainier Christian High School in Auburn, earned the Royal Rangers’ Gold Medal of Achievement, the program’s highest award.

Olson belongs to the Christian boys scouting program’s Outpost No. 55 at Kent Christian Center.

Similar to the Boy Scouts of America’s Eagle Scout Award, the Gold Medal requirements include 18 merits, eight elective merits, a service project,

500-word essay and service in various leadership positions.

Elijah, son of Glenn and Diana Olson, will be honored at a special ceremony on July 19.
