Gloria Isaacson practices the strength test during the Senior Safe Step Workshop held at the Auburn Senior Center last week. The workshop promoted health, safety and independence for seniors. The class listened to pharmacists and St. Francis physical therapist Bob Matekel.The workshop discussed medication interactions and exercise as they relate to preventing fall-related injuries. Auburn Regional Medical Center physical therapy staff members also conducted brief assessments on strength, balance and flexibility.

Sponsoring agencies for the workshops included ARMC staff, St. Francis Hospital, Valley Regional Fire Authority, Lifeline, King County Fire Marshal’s Office and King County Emergency Medical Services.
