Schmidt named Optimist president

Pamela Schmidt recently was named president of the Auburn Optimist Club.

Schmidt replaces retiring Michele Cox. Among Schmidt’s goals is to build tighter networks between members.

Joe Jenkins was named secretary/administrative assistant, while Kayla Sargent continues as vice president and Frank Smith will remain as treasurer.

The club meets every other Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Auburn Elks Club, 2402 Auburn Way N. Visitors are always welcome.
