Pacific to celebrate centennial Aug. 8-10

Pacific will celebrate its centennial with a variety of activities next weekend.

The celebration will begin next Friday with opening ceremonies set for 10 a.m. at Pacific Park, 600 3rd Ave SE. There will be music on stage from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., including a live performance by Streetlight from 1-2:30 p.m. Games will be held in the park, including a Terry Home cook-off from noon-1 p.m.

Next Sunday, a morning service will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. The park will have an open jam session, games and doors prizes throughout the day.

A Centennial Park dedication, including a time capsule burial, will be held at 6 p.m. at City Hall next Monday. Sam’s Club will serve cake.
