Auburn’s Jericho Urmenita currently is attending the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) in Rhode Island. Urmenita plans to be a helicopter pilot or a surface warfare officer.

A member of the NAPS wrestling team, Urmenita recently beat his opponent from the University of Connecticut by a technical fall in a 141-pound exhibition match. He also performs drums for the NAPS pep band.

Urmenita, son of Richard and Elizabeth Urmenita, graduated magna cum laude from Auburn Mountainview High School in June 2009. He received the school’s Outstanding Senior Award. He also finished second in percussion at the 2009 state solo and ensemble competition and was a state-class wrestler.
