Auburn VFW installs officers
The Auburn VFW Post 1741 recently installed officers for 2010-11.
Installed were: Bill Peloza (commander); Tony Dohse (senior vice commander); Mike Sepal (junior vice commander); John Pepper (quartermaster); Phil McLaughlin (chaplain) and Jon Quackenbush (surgeon). The trustees are Ken Robinson, Cam Cutler and Don Cochran. Commander-appointed positions include: Paul Fison (adjutant); Chris Beverly (officer OTD); Ernie Londino (service officer) and Irwin Bergsma (guard).
In addition, VFW 1741’s “Flags for Food Bank” program recently was recognized by national VFW headquarters as a superior community project. The VFW provides a free 3x5 U.S. flag to replace worn and tattered flags in communities it serves. In return, the Post asks those receiving the flag to make a donation to the food bank.
If the public sees a worn or tattered U.S. flag in the community, please contact the VFW at 253-293-5839, or e-mail: vfw1741.webs.com or visit www.vfw1741.webs.com.
Post 1741 gathers on the fourth Tuesday of each month for dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a meeting. The Post is located at 1525
A St. NE, Suite 107, Auburn.
