Finalists to compete in Auburn On Stage!

Ten finalists, including three past winners, will vie in the

finals of the fourth annual

Auburn On Stage! singing competition Friday.

The event, put on by the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department and formerly known as Auburn Idol, will crown a champion in the adult category (16 and older) and junior division (8-15). The finals will begin at 7 p.m.

at Auburn’s Les Gove Park, 910 Ninth Street SE.

Auditions, which were held at Auburn Avenue Theater on July 19-20, drew nearly 50 contestants.

The adult champion will receive a $500 prize. The two adult runner-ups will each receive a $50 prize. The junior champion will receive a $100 prize. Prize money is available compliments of MultiCare – Auburn Clinic.

A screening of 2007’s Hairspray (PG) – part of the Summer Sounds & Comcast Cinema Series – will appear following the finals.

The finalists:

Adult division: Chris Hentel; Lisa Hanson; Bailey Goranson; Tom Pitts; Rachel LaBranche (2007 winner); Dayla Walker (2005 winner)

Junior division: Cami Werden; Tyler Bunday; Travis Anderson; Jade Swepston (2007 finalist)
