The Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department has announced its Summer Sounds & Cinema Series lineup.

The series opens at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 at Sunset Park, 1306 69th St. SE, with entertainment provided by Seattle's premier '80s hair rock tribute band, Hairstorm.

Following the 90-minute concert is a screening of "Despicable Me 2" (PG).

Featured at the event is an ArtRageous hands-on art activity led by artist Damara Jacobs-Morris.

Auburn's King Solomon Lodge will provide free child ID kits, while Reliance Church will offer inflatable rides and face painting.

The series concludes at 7 p.m. Aug. 15 at Les Gove Park, 910 Ninth St. SE. Crème Tangerine, a live Beatles music experience, performs. The movie, "Turbo" (PG), will be shown on an inflatable, 50-foot movie screen at dusk. King Solomon Lodge will provide free child ID kits.

Food concessions, operated by the Auburn Youth Council, will be available at the events for a nominal fee. Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets.
