Jim Short, winner of the 2004 San Francisco Comedy Competition, will headline Saturday's Comedy at The Ave lineup.

Short will join two other stand-up comedians when the curtains open at 7:30 p.m. at the iconic theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Short was the first comic on CBS's "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and has appeared on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", "Premium Blend" and the animated series "Shorties Watchin' Shorties" on Comedy Central, and NBC's "Late Friday". His act is a whirlwind of subjects from pop culture, media, technology, coffee shops, politics, and rock stars, all done with a funny accent.

Comedy at The Ave is not recommended for children under 18 years.

Tickets are $17, $15 for college students. Call Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation at 253-931-3043, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
