The Republican Party is in a mad rush to cancel the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). The act provides coverage to more than one million Washington residents who otherwise would not have coverage. It prevents insurance companies from denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions. It provides coverage for preventive care so people do not wait until disaster hits.

It has proven to reduce the rise in medical costs by paying for outcomes rather than the number of tests and/or procedures ordered. It has subsidized the poor allowing them treatment before they end up in an emergency room.

If you believe we should not lose the positive features of the act, it is time to speak out and let your Congressman know.
