Auburn needs to rebuild its downtown core

What to do with the iconic Auburn Avenue Theater?

Bulldoze it and everything east of Auburn Avenue.

The downtown core east of City Hall has become a wasteland of abandon, rundown buildings that have been vacant for years. To have a downtown core that the city wants, then you have to bulldoze everything east of Auburn Avenue, all the way to Auburn Way North.

Bring in someone to redevelop that entire section of downtown. Just because it’s old doesn’t make it iconic or historic. While you are at it, make Safeway build a real grocery store and not a mini version of itself. Then focus on the garbage dump that is Auburn Way South down near the library and Les Gove Park.

Only way to make Auburn a destination for people to come is to redevelop all of the downtown core, including east of Auburn Avenue.
