Backus has my vote for mayor

I have been asked by many people why I support Nancy Backus for mayor.

Here is my reply:

I am primarily basing my support on her previous track record.

Economic growth in our city and Nancy’s local and regional presence. Sitting on the SCA, Sound Transit and others brings a hands-on approach to having Auburn represented. This is something she chooses to do. It is more than a 40-hour-a-week job.

Good relations with city employees and the three police unions. New officers have been hired. Nancy has worked extremely well with the VRFA. Roads have been an issue, but they always have.

We, at the chamber, put together a bond issue that failed to get the 60 percent super majority, which, if it had passed, would have propelled us forward. If we had more time, we might have brought more education to the voters, which might have helped it pass.

Her integrity, loyalty and love for Auburn are without compare.
