Reliving horrors

In response to Jerry Cornfield’s column (“Battle brews over Planned Parenthood practices, issues”, Reporter, Jan. 6):

I would note that the Senate Judiciary Committee has referred Planned Parenthood to the FBI and the Department of Justice for criminal investigation and possible prosecution. Sen. Chuck Grassley, the committee chairman, stated in a press release that, “the seeming disregard for the law by these entities has been fueled by decades of utter failure by the Justice Department to enforce it. And, unless there is a renewed commitment by everyone involved against criminalizing the trade in aborted fetal body parts for profit, then the outcome is likely to continue.”

The Senate investigation based its findings on data independent of the hidden camera videos created by David Daleiden. Nevertheless, those online videos are monstrous. They were not “doctored” but condensed in order to edit out non-pertinent material (which material is also available online.)

In those videos, a former technician testifies that she carved the brain of a tiny baby out through its face. The head of a procurement firm laughs at research techs who “freak out” upon receiving a package containing a whole intact fetal cadaver. Dr. Mary Gatter of Planned Parenthood cooly negotiates the price of fetal organs. And Planned Parenthood’s only defense is that these videos were “edited.” They deny none of what was actually filmed.

Are we to justify these horrors as Mr. Cornfield does because the resulting research could prove beneficial? The Nazis approved similar horrors for exactly the same reason. We are cannibalizing our children.
