Respect the laws: Live here legally

After reading the article in the Auburn Reporter, “Residents urge to have a change of heart” (May 5), I’m sitting here thinking, “Are you kidding? Why would or should the laws be changed to reward anyone who does not comply with rules/laws, whether they are here illegally or breaking other rules?”

Perhaps the illegal residents or their relatives should have thought about breaking the law before crying to the council.

I also believe the federal government should withhold funds from any city that claims it is a sanctuary. Why give money to a city providing illegal activity? Federal funds received are being spent on many, including illegals.

Do we want more illegals moving to Auburn because of our status? Of course not.

If you want to live in America, do it legally. You should not expect entitlements.
