On Monday the Auburn City Council unanimously passed our resolution to oppose locating King County’s CHEL “safe” injection site in Auburn.

Thanks are in order to Mayor Nancy Backus for valuable support to review and format our Resolution 5306, to council member John Holman for presenting the resolution, and to council members Largo Wales and Rich Wagner for strengthening the language in the resolution from our original proposal.

Now is the time for all the cities in South King County to voice their opposition to locating a CHEL heroin – and other illegal drugs – injection site in their city.

I certainly support Sen. Mark Miloscia for his effort in the state Senate for a statewide ban and the King County Initiative 27 that would ban these illegal drug injection sites in King County.
