Brookes to appear, talk on A Journey Across Spain: Walking the Camino de Santiago

Dennis and Laurie Brooke hiked 500-plus miles of the Camino de Santiago from the French Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela last spring. The Auburn couple will talk about their experience, how they prepared, and how what they learned applies to real life.

The talk is Sunday, Feb. 5, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Auburn Library, 1102 Auburn Way S.

The presentation is free.

The Camino de Santiago is an historic pilgrimage dating back 1,200 years. In 2015, more than 260,000 people from around the world made the trek by foot, bicycle or horse.

Dennis and Laurie Brooke retired from corporate life in early 2016 and now spend their time traveling the world and writing. Beginning with the Camino adventure, they have lived for six months in Spain, Portugal, the British Isles, and Germany.
