Poetry at the Rainbow Café welcomes Laura Allen and a mystery guest

Poetry at the Rainbow Café presents the works of Laura Allen and a special mystery guest on Monday, May 1.

The program is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the café, 112 E. Main St.

Coffee and conversation follow readings. It is an open mic opportunity. The public is invited.

About the poet

Allen is a visual artist, writer and instructor living in West Seattle. She is active in the writing and the fine art community.

Her visual art has been featured in numerous exhibitions, and her poetry and other writing has appeared in many regional and national journals. She has worked in diverse literary positions, from creative writing instructor to editor-in-chief of a bimonthly arts magazine. Her new chapbook, “The Quiet Year,” will be released in April.
