Comedy Night at the Ave welcomes Steve Gillespie to the stage Jan. 20.

The three-comedian show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the historic theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Gillespie’s act is a slaphappy balance of aggression and absurdity, coupled with a delightfully pushy persona. His hilarity has earned him spots on Fox’s “Laughs”, as well as “Conan” and the Boston Comedy Festival. He was also a finalist in CMT’s “Next Big Comic”.
