The Rainier Youth Choirs’ sixth annual Summer Choir Day Camp is Aug. 14-17 at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 19800 108th Ave. SE, Kent.

The “Amazing Race 2” theme, inspired by the popular CBS show, has participants “‘traveling” to adventures thoughout the globe from Austria to Ireland, New Zealand and Spain. Campers will sing these countries’ songs, play their games, eat their foods, surmount fun challenges and explore landmarks, activities and crafts.

All youth in grades 3-9 from Kent and surrounding communities may participate; no audition needed.

Instruction runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.

The $150 participation fee includes camp T-shirt, backpack, lunch and snacks, all materials, 20 hours of instruction from six highly qualified choral directors/musicians and a free gala concert by the campers on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. in the New Hope PC sanctuary. Partial scholarships are available.

Families that supply an adult volunteer to work during the week pay $85. All volunteers must pass a WATCH background check.

Register at RainierYouthChoirs.org.

Auditions for fall enrollment are being scheduled for boys and girls entering grades 2-12. Season 11, “No Limits” runs from Sept. 11 through May 2018.

Prospective singers are asked to apply online at RainierYouthChoirs.org.
