Tour the Valley Regional Fire Authority’s newly remodeled Fire Station 32 during a rededication and open house event from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

The community is invited to join the VRFA for a day of family fun at Fire Station 32, located at 1951 R St. SE in Auburn.

Refreshments, demonstrations, equipment and safety displays will be provided. Children can try on firefighter gear, build their own fire trucks, tour through a fire engine and medical aid car, and meet Sparky the Fire Dog and “Pluggie” the fire hydrant robot. Adults can try out the thermal imaging camera, obtain a blood pressure or blood sugar check, tour the facility and obtain home safety information.

A formal Rededication ceremony will take place at noon.

For additional information, visit www.vrfa.org or call 253-288-5800. Parking is limited, so please carpool if possible.

Voters approved the funding for the remodel of fire station 32 as part of a capital funding projects measure passed in February of 2008.
