Lanes closed on I-5, SR 18 this week

Drivers should expect nighttime closures on I-5 and SR 18 in Federal Way this week. Crews will be closing lanes near the I-5/SR 18 interchange for striping, installing barrier and guardrail work.

• Monday, Jan. 10 – the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 11: Crews will close lanes on southbound I-5 near SR 18 for striping. The two left lanes will close at 8 p.m., a third lane will close at 10 p.m. and a fourth lane will close at midnight. All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m.

• Monday, Jan. 10 – the morning of Thursday, Jan. 13: Crews will close the right lane in both directions of SR 18 near I-5 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for guardrail, paving and excavation work.

The work is part of a project to ease congestion and improve safety near the I-5/SR 18/SR 161.
