A man was killed this morning after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the 4900 block of Kersey Way Southeast in Auburn.
Auburn police, the Valley Regional Fire Authority, and King County Medic One paramedics were called to the scene just before 12:30 a.m. after a motorist witnessed a vehicle go off the road. Firefighters arrived and found a mid-size SUV upright approximately 20 feet down a shallow embankment. After accessing the vehicle, firefighters determined that its sole occupant had sustained fatal injuries.
The Auburn Police Department collision investigators are processing the scene and investigating the cause of the collision.
Kersey Way, which was closed between 53rd Street Southeast and Oravetz Road Southeast, has been reopened to traffic.
