A sport utility vehicle collided head on with an Auburn School District bus on 37th Street Southeast this afternoon, Auburn police reported.

There were no serious injuries, although a 13-year-old girl – one of 35 Mt. Baker Middle School students on the bus – complained of back injuries. She was transported to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

According to police, the driver of an Isuzu Rodeo SUV crossed the center line and struck the bus. The 53-year-old man also was transported to Auburn Regional. Traffic investigators suspect an existing medical condition contributed to the wreck.

The accident was reported around 2:10 p.m.

All other students were loaded on another bus and taken home
