Driver hits, injures pedestrian in Auburn

A motorist struck and injured a Seatac man while he was crossing Auburn Way North this afternoon, Auburn police reported.

Although conscious and talking, the 31-year-old man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with possibly serious injuries, police said.

The victim appeared drunk, according to media reports.

The vehicle was traveling northbound in the 1600 block of Auburn Way North when it struck the man at around 2:15 p.m. The victim was crossing the five-lane road in moderate to heavy traffic and was not in a crosswalk, police reported.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded, along with the King County Medics, to treat the victim.

Auburn police are investigating.

All lanes of Auburn Way North are now open.

No charges are anticipated for the driver.
