Auburn man and his 4 dogs escape house fire

An Auburn man and his four dogs escaped an early Thursday morning house fire in Auburn.

Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority were dispatched at 1:41 a.m. to a fire at 4248 A St. SE, Unit No. 110. Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the master bedroom of the house and heavy smoke throughout the residence.

The sole occupant had evacuated and was standing outside with his four dogs.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the house ventilated to remove the smoke. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Damage estimate to the home and contents is $25,000.
