The Auburn Mountainview High School Roar of the Lions Marching Band took second place overall at the 25th annual Auburn Veterans Day Marching Band Championships on Saturday.
With a final score of 74.5 in the field show competition – the highest score achieved since the opening of the school in 2005 — band students gave an outstanding performance.
The Lions brought home Best Color Guard and Best General Effect awards in the field show competition.
Additionally, the AMHS Marching Band was third overall in the parade competition.
The Band Retreat capped off the day's competition and was led by the Roar of the Lions Marching Band Drumline.
"It is a great honor to lead over 2,000 marching band students from schools throughout the region in the Retreat Drumline," said AMHS Bands Director Derek Pyle. "It is considered an honor in any field show competition."
