Body found in burned-out car identified as Kent woman; death ruled a homicide

The body found in the trunk of a burned-out car early Sunday morning has been identified by the King County Medical Examiner's Office.

The body was positively identified as that of Denise Kay Grigsby, 39, of Kent.

According to the King County Medical Examiner's Office, the cause of death is listed as a homicide.

King County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Detectives and Fire Investigators continue to process the car for evidence.

Shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday, Mountain View Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a fully engulfed car fire in the area of Southeast 328th Street and Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road.

The body was first discovered by firefighters.
