Auburn is having a party Friday to send off Ariana Kukors to the London Summer Games.

The celebration begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 700 E. Main St.

Kukors, a 2007 Auburn Mountainview graduate and Pac-10 champion at the University of Washington, earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic Swim Team in the 200-meter individual medley.

Kukors secured a berth with she swam her way to a second-place finish in the 200 IM in a time of 2 minutes, 11.30 second at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Neb., last week.

On Friday, the Kukors family will host a celebratory sendoff for Ariana. Guest speakers, videos and Team Kukors shirts will be available to order.
