A high-speed chase wound up in Auburn late Sunday night, resulting in two nasty collisions, an arrest and an injured King County Sheriff's deputy.
According to sheriff's spokeswoman Cindi West, the deputy was following a female driver in a small red car when she accelerated, driving recklessly.
The woman drove onto westbound Highway 18, then got off near the SuperMall, then proceeded northbound on Highway 167. She took the exit to 15th Street Northwest, where she struck a driver traveling eastbound. The collision caused the suspect's vehicle to rotate 180 degrees. The suspect's car was facing the off-ramp where she had exited. She accelerate head on into the vehicle of the pursuing deputy, West said.
The deputy, who has not been identified, has minor neck and back injuries. He was taken to Valley General Hospital.
The suspect, a 34-year-old woman, was arrested and booked for investigation of felony eluding and vehicular assault, West said.
