Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters extinguished a house fire in the 100 block of Aspen Lane South in Pacific on Tuesday morning, saving two dogs.

The homeowner got out and called 911 at 11:06 a.m. after trying to douse the flames with a garden hose.

Crews from three fire engines put out the fire.

Although no one was hurt, the entire house sustained smoke damage, with moderate fire and water damage limited to one room and its contents.

Family members have made temporary living arrangements until the VRFA deems the house safe for their return.

The fire is under investigation.
