Auburn police blotter | Oct. 26

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Oct. 13 and Oct. 21:
Oct. 13
Theft: 3 p.m., 1620 Perimeter Road SW. The YMCA was the setting for a wallet theft.
Oct. 17
Commercial burglary: Overnight, 1602 Boundary Blvd. SW. Subjects unknown broke into a fire room, unplugged the phone lines and alarm and punched a hole in the sheetrock. Did the burglars actually burgle anything during the burglary? Dunno, police didn't say.
Attempted swindle: 10:01 a.m., 3700 block of A Street Southeast. A man told police that a caller claiming to represent a scholarship company had been pestering his mother out of the blue, hoping to separate her from $600 of her money. Mama was smart, though, giving the would-be swindlers not even the tiniest speck of bank account or personal identification.
Controlled substance: 11:15 a.m., 401 W Main St. Authorities at West Auburn High School found drug paraphernalia on a student.
Theft: 8:30 a.m., 800 block of 45th Street Northeast. A woman's vehicle tabs sprouted wings and migrated, resettling on her neighbor's license plate across the street.
Theft: 2:51 p.m. 100 block of Riverview Drive Northeast. Somebody swiped a piano keyboard from a home garage,
Burglary: 4:06 p.m., 2 16th St. NE. Somebody burgled a rifle, a shotgun and clothing from a storage unit.
Vandalism: 7:10 p.m., 10 block of O Street Northeast. Vandals unknown damaged residential motion lights. Police did not disclose a value.
Theft: 8:30 p.m., 910 block of Auburn Way North. Somebody stole a purse from a vehicle. Police did not disclose a value.
Oct. 18
Assault with a knife: 6:34 a.m., 4023 Auburn Way S. Somebody stabbed a man in the head with a knife during a party.
Theft of robot: 2:40 p.m., 1825 K St. SE. Somebody, or several somebodies, stole a robot from the Olympic Middle School robotics class.
Theft of property: 9:20 a.m., 2400 block of I Street Northeast. Somebody slipped into an unlocked car and stole a wallet and makeup bag from a purse.
Controlled substance: 1:47 p.m., 800 4th St. NE. The powers that be at Auburn High School detained and police arrested a student for possession of pot and the paraphernalia to respond to it.
Vandalism: 11:36 p.m., 1031 14th St. NE. A worker discovered that yahoos unknown had damaged sensors to speed zone cameras in the Dick Scobee Elementary school zone.
Oct. 19
Theft: 1 p.m., 400 block of 37th Street Southeast. Woman one alleged that woman two, identity unknown to woman one, stole a diamond ring from woman one's pillow case while woman two was doing woman one's laundry.
Vandalism: 4:18 p.m., 2300 block of O Street Northeast. Police arrested a man for vandalizing in ways undisclosed vehicles and buildings.
Burglary: Overnight, 1302 4th St. SW. Somebody broke into an Auburn School District property and damaged a vehicle and gate.
Lonely heart: 3:10 a.m., 12110 SE 312th St. An upset female reportedly damaged her ex-boyfriend's, new girlfriend's car.
Oct. 21
Burglary: 9 a.m., 700 block of 23rd Street Southeast. A home owner returned to find his or her backyard shed opened and valued items missing. Items appeared to have been dragged across the back yard to the front gate area. Police did not disclose a value.
Theft: 2:30 p.m., 14th Street Northwest. A man stole his great-aunt's computer then unwittingly became the unwitting star of a video that showed him pawning the stolen computer.
Burglary: 9 p.m., L Place Southeast. A woman reported that someone had opened her back bedroom window and entered her apartment without her permission.
