Auburn Police arrest man in fatal stabbing

Auburn Police arrested a 24-year-old man in the stabbing death of a 22-year-old man over an argument early Monday morning.

Police were called to 4023 Auburn Way S. for a stabbing shortly after 1 a.m. When officers arrived, the victim was unconscious and bleeding from a stab wound to the neck.

Officers and medics attempted CPR, but to no avail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man was arrested at the scene and then transported to the King County Jail.

Information so far indicates that the victim and suspect have known one another since childhood, police said.

Witnesses have been identified and interviewed.

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the stabbing, police said.

The scene has been processed and the investigation continues.
