June 2, 2008 · Updated 3:51 PM
Kaelin Cooley, a fifth-grade student at Washington Elementary School, was selected by AAA Washington as one of 10 outstanding school safety patrol members from schools throughout the state.
Kaelin will be inducted into the AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame. Her name will appear on a plaque at AAA Washingtons corporate office in Bellevue and she will be mentioned in AAAs Journey magazine.
Kaelin also was a guest of honor at a dinner and awards ceremony at the Seattle Mariners game on April 25.
AAA and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission honored Kaelin during a pre-game ceremony before being escorted down to the field where she was recognized for her accomplishment. The remainder of the evening Kaelin enjoyed dinner and the ball game from a luxury suite. Kaelins family accompanied her to the event.
The AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame is an opportunity for traffic safety leaders and school patrol advisors to recognize outstanding patrollers for their dedication to the safety of their fellow classmates.
