Auburn's severe cold weather shelter extends hours

The City of Auburn, in conjunction with the Auburn Food Bank, has extended the opening of the severe weather shelter to include the following:

• Today, 9 p.m.-7 a.m.

• Tuesday, 9 p.m.-7 a.m.

• Wednesday, 10 p.m.-7 a.m.

• Thursday, 9 p.m.-7 a.m.

• Friday, 9 p.m.-7 a.m.

The shelter is at the Williams C. Warren Building in Veteran's Memorial Park, 411 E. St. NE. This is an emergency shelter only and no services are provided.

Questions regarding the shelter may be directed to Debbie Christian, director of the food bank, at 253-334-4860.

Citizens with emergencies should call 911. For emergency preparedness questions, call 253-876-1925.
