Ball selected citys top employee for 07
Human resource coordinator Linda Ball was selected as the City of Auburns 2007 Employee of the Year, Mayor Pete Lewis announced recently.
Ball plays an integral role in the hiring and orientation of employees into the city. She recently was promoted to her coordinator role where she is responsible for the hiring of temporary employees, coordinating new hire paperwork, orientations, benefits and supports current employees with benefit questions or changes.
Ball was nominated by a co-worker because she plays a key role in giving potential staff members their first impression of Auburn.
Colleagues note that she sets a strong example for all employees in regard to conduct when providing service to co-workers, citizens and the community.
Ball came to the City of Auburn on a part-time basis with the parks and recreation department in 1985 and then moved into a full-time role in the human resources department in 2001.
She has the highest level of integrity and is open and honest when communicating with her customers, said human resource director Brenda Heineman. She is committed, innovative, positive and articulate, as well as being a valuable asset to the City of Auburn.
Ball lives in Auburn with her husband Rick of 28 years and has three adult children. She spends her free time traveling, hiking, volkswalking with friends, reading and spending time with family.
The City of Auburn Employee of the Year dates back to 1966 and is selected by peers.
