Sweep city
June 2, 2008 · Updated 3:46 PM
Volunteers came together on Saturday to participate in the City of Auburns Clean Sweep project.
The community-wide volunteer effort focused on major cleanup and beautification efforts in four parks
Brannan Park, Environmental Park, Lea Hill Park and
Shaughnessy Park.
Each park had different projects, such as planting, pruning, weeding, painting and more. Service clubs, social service agencies, faith-based groups, scouting troops, businesses and individuals came together and worked side-by-side to help with the planting project.
More than 600 people registered to help out. Right, volunteers sweep Main Street at the start of the annual event.
