Sheriffs respond to stabbing in Camelot Park

The King County Sheriff's Office has responded to a report of a stabbing in Camelot Park, 29400 45 Place S., just outside of the city of Federal Way.

A 22-year-old man called 911 at 11:34 a.m. Thursday to report he had been stabbed, and the suspect had run off into the wooded area of the park.

As a precaution, Thomas Jefferson High School and Camelot Elementary School were placed in lockdown.

Federal Way Police are assisting King County deputies and created a perimeter.

The King County Sheriff's Office helicopter Guardian 1 was called in to assist in the search.

Authorities said the victim became uncooperative and refused to identify the suspect. He then changed his story and said he fell on his own knife. At this point, deputies are still searching the park for the unknown assailant.
